BOBBY CRUSH

Bobby loves the notoriety that comes with writing both the music and lyrics for Orville’s Song (I Wish I Could Fly), which was a no.4 hit for Keith Harris in 1982.

Bobby shot to stardom after six winning appearances on TV’s Opportunity Knocks. West End successes include three seasons at the London Palladium, and an appearance in The Royal Variety Performance before Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. Bobby made his straight theatre debut appearing as showbiz legend Liberace in the courtroom drama Liberace’s Suit at the Jermyn Street Theatre. Bobby has also appeared in a number of musicals, including Dr. Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Show, Vernon Gersch in They’re Playing Our Song, L.M. in Pump Boys and Dinettes, and Billy Flynn in Chicago.

Recording successes include his debut album Bobby Crush, which reached the UK top 20. In all, he has made 13 albums, a number of which were awarded gold and silver discs. As well as his piano albums, Bobby can be heard vocally on two show
recordings… he plays the role of Pharoah on Pickwick’s Joseph & The Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat and sings 3 songs on Carlton’s Songs from the musical
“Hair”. Bobby is a regular guest on the QM2, and P&O cruise ships, where his cabaret shows invariably receive standing ovations.

Bobby is delighted to be revisiting Liberace in what must be the campest show in town!
